A warm autumn welcome to all our new and returning students!

New students will be introduced to our resources and facilities during Welcome week, when the Library will take part in induction sessions. You can also find out more about the Library at these events:

Spill the Library Tea

On 30th September and 9th October we are holding 'Spill the Tea' Events in the Library, where you can meet the Library team, find out how the Library works - and even win some prizes!

Library tours can be arranged for your cohort by academic staff, but if you want to discover the Library at your own pace, you can:

Printing essentials

You can start using our printing service as soon as you are enrolled. Here is what you need to know:

  • Check and top up your printing credit. Go to print.roehampton.ac.uk, or scan the QR codes by the printers.
  • Then log in to one of the Roehampton PCs and send the document to print.
  • Our printing network is called UoR Print and it will be selected automatically.
  • Collect your printing from any machine on campus. Just tap your ID card on the blue reader or enter your username and password, then Release the print job.

The Library provides a wealth of resources in many varied formats - not just books! - to support you in your studies and life.

New to London? Check out our Featured Collection of books, or BFI Player's collection of films, about this buzzing, historic city!
(You can access BFI Player for HE free of charge: log in with your Roehampton email, then create a personal account).

Current Displays...

Our new Welcome to London display features books about London for our new UK and international students, and in the Foyer we have a display of some of our popular textbooks across the curriculum.

Library displays highlight key historical, social, or awareness events, showcase academic work, and promote university events or societies. If you have a display idea, fill out the Display and Exhibition Space Booking Form. Missed a display? Check out the online Archive of Displays for some of our previous themes.

Study Spaces in the Library

New to the Library? Find out how the Library works so you can find the right study space for you:

  • Studying with friends? Stick to the lower floors -  these are group study spaces.
  • Want to concentrate?  Floors 2 or 3 are quiet zones - whisper only.
  • Need total silence? Head to the Hilda Laing room on floor 3 – that’s our silent study space.
  • Group study rooms are available to book - and very popular! Book via the Library homepage but make sure you do this in advance to avoid disappointment. Rooms can be booked up to 7 days in advance.
  • Postgraduates have your own dedicated study space on the first floor - no need to book, just enter with your ID card.

See below for more information on:

Mentimeter

Good news! We now have an institution-wide licence for Mentimeter, an interactivity tool that lecturers can use to make sessions even more engaging and fun. Training is available for academic staff – contact Digital Education for details.

The Foyle Special Collections and Archives hold outstanding and unique collections of books and historical documents, working closely with Schools and Faculties to support the teaching and research of the University. The Library's collections (on the second floor) have particular strengths in early childhood education, children's literature, dance, and religious studies. Each College also holds unique archives relating to their own history. Find out more on our Special Collections and Archives guide, or the Roehampton Colleges pages.

You can browse our collections using the Archives and Library catalogues; contact us by email with any questions or to book an appointment.
