Spotlight On: ProQuest One Business

The Library has recently acquired ProQuest One Business, a comprehensive collection of literature covering business, economics, management, finance and related subjects. 

The database provides a great starting point for all your business-related research. It brings together several of ProQuest’s key business databases, including the ABI/INFORM Collection and J.P. Morgan Research, giving you access to more than 130 million documents in one place.

ProQuest One Business blends practical insights with academic research. As well as offering access to a huge range of academic journals, you can use the database to research a company, explore industry trends or track down business case studies relevant to your subject area. 

Access to leading business publications

The database provides access to over 2,000 key business journals and newspapers, including the latest business news from:
•    The Financial Times (available with a one-month embargo).
•    The Economist.
•    The Wall Street Journal.

Subjects covered include business conditions and trends; management techniques, practice and theory; marketing; human resources; finance; analysis of trades, industries, companies and markets. 

Industry and Company Overviews

The ProQuest Company and Industry Overviews bring together multiple types of information, including recent news items, journal articles, trade journal articles, videos and books, on a single page. Each overview is arranged by a series of interactive tiles that make it easy to find relevant insights. 

Company and Industry Reports
For more detailed analysis of a Company or Industry, ProQuest provides access to in-depth Company and Industry Reports. These vary in focus, depth and frequency (e.g. quarterly vs. annually). If you’re not sure where to start, knowing the series and publisher of a report can help you pinpoint the information you need.

Case Studies for real-world learning
You can access over 3,500 business case studies through ProQuest One Business. These offer practical, real-world examples and can be used to spark discussion and support project work.

New for 2025: ProQuest Research Assistant
ProQuest’s Research Assistant uses AI technology to help make your research more effective. 

After running a search, the Research Assistant works in two key areas:
•    Suggesting related terms and synonyms to help you refine your queries.
•    Generating key takeaways for documents, including:
          - A brief summary of the document.
         - Additional topics discussed within it.
         - An explanation of how it relates to your original search.
