The Library Collections support the learning, teaching, research and leisure needs of students and staff. We provide you with FREE access to high quality, specialist resources, so you don't have to pay!
In the Library you will find print books and some print journals on the shelves, however the majority of the Library's collections are available online and can be accessed anytime, any place and from any device.
Some good starting points for exploring the Library Collections:
Module Resource Lists have all the assigned readings for your taught modules.
UR Library Search is the best place to start searching for books and journals articles.
Library Subject Guides list the specialist resources for your subject area.
A-Z Database List if you need to find a specific database.
Our Featured Collections support University events and extra curricula themes, such as Equality, Diversity & Inclusion, LGTBQ+, Women's History Month and Black Lives Matter.
The Library also holds extensive Special Collections and Archives that contain rare books, original documents and artefacts in fields including Dance, Education and Children’s Literature.
Parents and carers may want to make use of our School Experience Collection, which includes a large borrowable collection of Children’s books.
Have a book suggestion for the Library? Use our Suggest a Book service to suggest a title that would increase the diversity of our collections.
Donations Policy
We appreciate that staff, students or external stakeholders may sometimes wish to donate books, periodicals or other materials to the Library. Whilst we understand the motivations behind this, it is usually not cost-effective for us to accept donations unless they very significantly enhance our collections to support the teaching, learning and research needs of the University.
