Spotlight on: Kanopy film streaming platform

Kanopy is a video streaming platform that provides access to a wide selection of films, documentaries, TV shows, and training videos across both academic and popular subjects. Similar to streaming services like Netflix and BBC iPlayer, Kanopy’s homepage features new and trending content organized by categories such as Film Genre, Geography, Subjects, and Themes.

Each video includes a full transcript and subtitles in multiple languages for enhanced accessibility. You can access Kanopy through the Library’s A-Z database list—take a look and start exploring!

Useful tips - creating and sharing playlists and clips

Registering for a free personal Kanopy account (using your Roehampton email address) will enable you to build a watchlist, create custom playlists, and make clips for use in class or to embed in slides. To create a clip, simply add a video to a playlist, select the edit clip option, and follow the on-screen instructions. You can then embed clips or full films using Kanopy’s sharing tools.
