RefWorks is reference management software that allows you to:
save references from sources such as eJournals, databases, library catalogues and websites
compile your own collection of references and organise them into folders
insert correctly formatted citations into your documents
automatically create final reference lists and bibliographies
RefWorks is cloud based and can be used anywhere you have a WiFi connection. It is funded by the Library and is free to Roehampton students and staff (and alumni).
NOTE: RefWorks may not be completely accurate in the citations and references that it generates as it is an automated process. Students should check the citations and references that are generated to ensure that they are accurate before submitting work.
Anyone at the University of Roehampton can create an account:
Go to RefWorks (see link above) and select 'Create account'.
Once you activate your account you’ll get access immediately and can get started adding and managing your references.
See our RefWorks Video Tutorials page for more guidance on all of RefWorks features.
Library Skills Drop-in Clinic: If you have a RefWorks query you can book a 20 minute online drop-in session for help.
Video Tutorials: RefWorks Tutorial Videos can help you get started with RefWorks.
Workshops: The library offers RefWorks training sessions. These sessions are delivered by the Academic Achievement Team. You can find out more and book a place on Library Workshops & Events.
Contact: If you still need help, you can e-mail AATeam@roehampton.ac.uk to get in touch with an Academic Achievement Librarian.
RefWorks is the reference management software that the Library provide support with. There are other reference management software that you may be familiar with or wish to use. Whilst we cannot provide support for alternative tools, you may wish to explore the differences and pick what is most suitable for you.
