RefWorks is an online reference management software that allows you to:
export references from sources such as eJournals, databases, library catalogues and websites
compile your own collection of references and organise them into folders
insert correctly formatted citations into your documents
automatically create final reference lists and bibliographies
RefWorks is free to use for students, staff and alumni.
NOTE: RefWorks may not be completely accurate in the citations and references that it generates as it is an automated process. Students should check the citations and references that are generated to ensure that they are accurate before submitting work.
Go to RefWorks (see link above) and select 'Create account'.
Once you activate your account you’ll get access immediately and can get started adding and managing your references.
See our RefWorks Video Tutorials page for step by step guidance on all of RefWorks features including, how to export and organise references in Refworks, as well as generating a bibliography and in-text citations.
RefWorks is the reference management software that the Library provide support with. There are other reference management software that you may be familiar with or wish to use. Whilst we cannot provide support for alternative tools, you may wish to explore the differences and pick what is most suitable for you.
