Problems with Online Resources

Getting started

This is a help guide for problems you may be having with the Library's Online Resources.
If you need help with referencing, logging into your Library Account, IT, AV resources, wellbeing, or studying with a disability, have a look at our other other help pages.

If you're still experiencing problems with a resource, please contact us.

You will need to be logged in to access any Library Online Resources. If you are on campus you should be logged in automatically.

If you're accessing from off-campus please log into your Library Account.

Additionally, for the best user experience please access eResources via UR Library Search or via the A-Z Database List rather than via Google or other search engines.

There are a few resources that will require additional steps to log in - please see our Logging in tutorials.

You can check what we have access to by searching for:

We try to have as many books, journals and articles as possible to support learning, teaching and research at the University. However, there may be times when you need something we don't have. There are a number of ways we can help you:

  • If you request an Inter Library Loan, we'll try to borrow the item from another library;
  • If you think there's a book we should have in the library you can fill out our Suggest a Book form;
  • You can visit over 170 academic libraries in the UK using the SCONUL scheme.

If you are having trouble accessing an Online Resource, we always recommend trying again in a different browser (Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Safari).

Please note that Internet Explorer is no longer supported as a browser for navigating the Library website, so you may encounter errors if you are an Internet Explorer user. We recommend switching to Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge or Safari.

If changing browser did not resolve the issue, try clearing your browser cache using the instructions below:
